Space is For Everyone: Diversity and Inclusion in Star Trek, 12:30pm – 1:30pm

I will be analyzing ways that Star Trek has been on the forefront of inclusion, metaphorically and literally, over its 50+ year history. This panel will touch on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, and disability, and the ways that Trek has paved the way for people of all walks of life to communicate and provide futuristic solutions to contemporary problems

PhillyPri Presents: Kculture Trivia, 2:00pm – 3:30pm

If you love Korean Culture and think you know about the food, history, KPop, kdramas, and more this is the Trivia game for you. If you don’t know but you are curios join us to see what it’s all about. It’s fun, energetic, and just an overall good time. The more you know the better your chances at winner a prize.

Gochujang to Garlic: Cooking Korean Food, 4:00pm – 5:00pm

We’re a mother and daughter who have been running a Kdrama podcast for over two years and want to introduce more people to Korean food. We’ll talk about a variety of things surrounding cooking and eating Korean food such as: ingredients, shopping, where to get recipes, and our favorite restaurants. We’ll be featuring a few specific dishes and our experience making them, as well as providing the recipes that we’ve used.

Kpop Trading Pop Up, 5:30pm – 6:30pm

Come swap and trade anything to do with Kpop/Kdramas. You will be only able to exchange goods between attendees. No selling or exchange of money will b allowed during this event.

New Jersey Frills Presents: Lolita Fashion 101, 2:00pm – 3:30pm

Learn all about the popular J-Fashion style from the New Jersey Lolita community, New Jersey Frills. From its old-school beginnings in the late 90’s and early 2000’s to today, this panel focuses on the many styles of Lolita Fashion and the culture revolving around it, as well as walking through on how to start your lolita fashion journey!

Convention Stories, 4:00pm – 5:00pm

Whether it’s your first convention or your 100th convention, I’m sure you have a story to tell! Like, who pulled the fire alarm?! No story? No problem! Come relax and chat.

Making Anime about Making Anime, 5:30pm – 6:30pm

They say to write what you know, so we guess that’s why so many anime creators are animating tales about making anime. But how accurate are these stories to the realities most animators, mangaka, and voice over artists face on the job? Join us as we break through the fourth wall and show you some titles that are factual examples of the craft and some which are complete fiction.

Virtual Panel Theater: 40 Years of Nausicaa, 10:45am – 11:45am

Hayao Miyazaki’s post apocalyptic tale of a princess struggling to maintain peace in a war-torn future was the director’s second feature — and a first in many ways. It was a major box office success. It was based on a story of his own creation. And the team who helped bring NAUSICAÄ to life would go on to become Miyazaki’s own colleagues. In celebration of its 40th anniversary, come learn about the stories behind this legendary masterpiece and why it was such an important cornerstone in Miyazaki’s career. No glider or breathing mask necessary. (Well, maybe.)

Anime Jeopardy: The Sequel!, 12:15pm – 1:00pm

Anime Jeopardy is BACK, baybeee. You will once again be tasked with answering a variety of anime-themed questions, while I (your glorious host Rumble Rose) will be tasked with evading a lawsuit from the Trebeck estate. Four contestants, first come, first served (there’s something for audience members too, though!). Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places!

Q & A with the Creator of Lil’ Deadpool, 1:30pm – 2:00pm

Come meet the creator of Marvel’s Lil’ Deadpool. Feel free to ask questions about working at Marvel Comics, etc.

Look Ma’! No Hands!: Gaming with a Disability, 2:30pm – 3:30pm

A panel about video game accessories and resources for gamers with disabilities. We will also discuss ways in which gaming can be made more accessible and offer an open forum for gamers with disabilities to talk about their experiences.

What’s With the Mask? A History of Kigurumi, 4:00pm – 5:00pm

You may have seen odd-looking anime mask cosplayers at a convention in the past. These cosplayers were taking part in kigurumi, an obscure sub-type of cosplay. They often do not speak and can’t answer every question you might have – but I can! Come join me, Inigo, Lucas and Kasumi for a fun lecture on kigurumi, with history, examples, interactions, and more, and I promise you’ll find these masks beautiful by the end.

Anime & Kpop Quiz, 5:30pm – 6:30pm

This panel would be about playing some quiz games and/or games made popular from Korean Variety shows. Some games could be guessing the song, other games could be guessing the silhouette, and others could be a drawing relay.

Pokemon GO to this Panel!, 11:00am – 12:00pm

You gotta catch this one! We will cover interesting facts, optimization, and show you the rarest Pokémon in the game. Come to find out un-Bayleef-able tips and tricks, gameplay controversies, and simply look at cool Pokémon. Whether you’re a hardcore player, a new player, or simply want to relive 2016, you’ll luv(disc) this panel!

FFXIV: Real or Fake, 10:30am – 11:30am

A game show in where the audience has to guess where or not certain events described during the panel happened for real or were made up. The game show revolves around FFXIV, a hit MMORPG. Knowledge of the game franchise is not needed to play.

Beyond Neon: Meet Cyberpunk’s Cousins, 12:00pm – 12:45pm

It feels like everybody and their grandma knows what ‘cyberpunk’ is by now. But, have you heard of dieselpunk and atompunk? Do you know the difference between nanopunk and biopunk? Come “jack in” to a panel that will take you down the rabbit hole and along for a fun-fueled trip through the wild world of cyberpunk derivatives! Your neural implants will be tingling with excitement as we unravel the tangled web of subgenres like solarpunk, where solar panels shine brighter than neon signs, and post-cyberpunk, where the dystopian future gets a fresh coat of paint. We’ll be showing you plenty of (spoiler free!) examples from anime, movies, and games along the way. So, whether you’re a high tech lowlife or a high-flyer who paints the skies in a steam-powered blimp, this panel is your passport to the outer edges of the cyberpunk multiverse!

A show where we break down and discuss multiple shows (which most are of the anime genre), and debate on whether the shows are either binge worthy, Cringe or just straight trash. It gets heated, funny, and crazy all through out the entirety of each episode. The facts and opinions be crazy the hot takes be wild and the energy jumps from chill to insane in a heartbeat! So stop by as we provide you with all the entertainment we have to offer while being our weird goofy selves!

How to Buy Anime Stuff like the Weeb U Are, 3:30pm – 4:30pm

Do you want to start collecting anime stuff but don’t know where to start? Well we can help! Join us as we teach you tips so you can start collecting! This is an informational panel to teach con-goers the various methods and ways to buy official anime merchandise in a budget friendly manner. We understand that a lot of anime fans do not know how to buy official goods from Japan, especially if it is exclusive to Japan. Our goal is to bridge that gap by informing people about these different methods that they can use, such as using proxy sites, group orders, or even personal buyers, as well as potentially teach them how to budget for goods and spot good deals in the wild.

Pepakura: The Art of Papercraft, 5:00pm – 6:00pm

Papercraft, or pepakura, is the art of turning a 3D model, often from a video game, into a real world paper model. Papercraft is a fun and inexpensive way to build and collect your favorite characters, and has also been adapted as a way to make cosplay armor and props. Join WhiteRakogis of Rakogis Papercraft (rakogispapercraft.wordpress.com) as he shows you all about the process of building a paper model, including both building and designing.

Ask a Cosplayer Anything: Cosplay Guest Judge Panel Featuring Angelina Stanek, Barracuda, and Gabby Nu!, 12:30PM – 1:30PM

Have you started cosplaying but are stuck on that ONE thing? Can’t figure out how to spike your wigs just right or make flawless armor/prop? Join this year’s featured cosplay guests, to answer any and all questions you might have about cosplay.

Philly Pokemon League: Trivia, 2:00pm – 3:30pm

Calling all Pokemon fans! Do you think you know everything there is to know about the world of Pokemon? Put your knowledge to the test at our exclusive Pokemon trivia panel at Kogaracon. Our panelists will challenge you with niche Pokemon facts and unique quests that will put your skills to the test. From the original 151 to the latest generations, our questions will cover all aspects of the Pokemon world, so bring your A-game!

But don’t worry if you’re not a Pokemon expert just yet. Our panel is designed for fans of all levels, and our panelists will provide plenty of hints and clues to help you along the way. Plus, you’ll have the chance to connect with other fans and show off your skills as a true Pokemon master.

The animatronics tend to get a bit quirky at night, so you’ll have to answer a few questions relating to the FNAF games in order to leave. Do you have what it takes to win the game & escape the animatronics? Oh, there’s also a pizza for you in the break room. Good luck!

Cosplay Dating Game, 1:00pm – 2:30pm

Have you felt so Delulu that you wanted to have the chance to date your favorite character? Have you wanted the chance to jump into a 1970’s TV show? Well we have the Solulu !! Welcome to the Cosplay Dating game! Here we will will take 1 lucky contestant and then 3 lucky Bachelors and bachelorettes from the audience and try to set up a love match with your dream character.

Tournament of Voices, 3:00pm – 4:00pm

Think you’ve got what it takes to be the voice of a character? Let’s find out in this tournament style game show! Player will be selected from the audience and asked to perform their interpretation of a video game character’s voice. Players can either do an impression or their own interpretation as creativity is encouraged! Winners will be decided by the audience and after all rounds are settled, the winner will be declared the Master of Voices!

Dynamic Anime Improv, 4:30pm – 6:30pm

hat’s right! We’re back. Dynamic Improv: Anime Edition is coming back to Kogaracon hilarious and funnier than before. Imagine this- Son Goku, Usagi Tsukino, and Izuku Midoriya walk into a bar. How does that play out? In, that’s what the Audience needs to act out. In this panel, we’ll have our wheel with topics that pairs of two will spin from to create hilarious and funny scenarios. If you’re paired up with someone or cosplaying together GREAT! You are those characters. If not, you can choose one of us to partner up with. Note: There will be prizes for those who participate! All rules will be explained at the beginning of the panel.
